Cruise Port Overview
Ibiza is Spain’s great Mediterranean port city. Cruise ships berth in the working West Harbour; once you reach the passenger exit, the city’s waterfront and archaeological sights are spread across Ibiza rather than concentrated at one walk-off point.
Your cruise terminal
Large cruise ships typically dock at the Botafoc Pier (Muelle de Botafoc), located on the northern breakwater arm of the harbor about 3 kilometers (approx. 2 miles) from the historic center. Smaller vessels may occasionally dock closer to the old town at Levante Quay.
Getting to Ibiza Town
Can you walk? While it is technically a flat walk from Botafoc Pier, it spans roughly 30 to 45 minutes along an open harbor road with minimal shade, making it less practical during peak summer heat.
Shuttle Bus: Independent local shuttle buses (PortBus) and cruise-line-operated shuttles pick passengers up directly outside the Botafoc terminal building and drop them off along the Sa Marina waterfront near the edge of the old town. The drop-off area or waterfront puts you steps away from upscale marinas, cafes, boutiques, and the base of the old town. Official white taxis are also stationed right outside the terminal exit for a quick 5 to 7-minute ride.
Set Tours: Independent excursion operators, boat tour vendors, and guided walking tour groups meet passengers right outside the terminal facilities.
Hostory of Ibiza
Founded originally by the Phoenicians in 654 BC as Eivissa, Ibiza boasts one of the oldest ports in the Western Mediterranean. Over the millennia, it fell under Carthaginian, Roman, Vandal, Byzantine, Moorish, and Catalan-Aragon control. Its striking, massive Renaissance-era fortifications were built in the 16th century by King Philip II to defend the island against frequent pirate attacks.
What to visit
Dalt Vila (The Old Town): A UNESCO World Heritage site perched on a hilltop overlooking the sea, enclosed by towering medieval ramparts and packed with narrow cobblestone streets, historic whitewashed homes, and artisan shops.
Ibiza Cathedral (Catedral de Santa María d'Eivissa): Situated at the highest peak of Dalt Vila, blending Gothic and Baroque architecture with sweeping panoramic views over the harbor.
S'Escalinata: A picturesque open-air tapas bar situated on stone steps within the old town, famous for its beanbag seating and views.
Sa Marina & Port Vell: The vibrant harbor promenade lined with luxury superyachts, trendy restaurants, and open-air cafes.

Puig des Molins, the waterfront and the central city are among the most forgiving choices because they stay close to the cruise port.
